High Blood Glucose? Here’s One Way to Help.

Whether you have type 1 or type 2 diabetes, the struggle to maintain stable glucose levels can be daunting.

As with the case of type 2 diabetes, however, you can often take matters into your own hands.

Type 2 diabetes frequently results from poor lifestyle choices that leave your pancreas sluggish and your blood exhausted. Beta cells produce less insulin to metabolize glucose, and your body stops responding to it.

The easiest way to get this under control is through a healthy diet and regular exercise.

Sometimes, though, that’s not enough.

Adding a spice or herb here and there can help jumpstart glucose metabolism so that your body can once again achieve optimal functioning.

Cinnamon is one such spice that can have profound effects.

An article published in The Annals of Family Medicine reported that patients with type 2 diabetes who took cinnamon in pill form showed serious improvements in blood glucose and cholesterol.

In fact, cinnamon proved to be so effective at reducing blood glucose that it had higher reduction rates than sitagliptin, a diabetes drug.

Cinnamon oil has also shown similar effects on blood glucose. It positively affects the release of insulin in type 2 diabetes so that more insulin is available to process glucose.

Moreover, this spice also helps support a healthy heart by reducing plaque build-up in the vessels and promotes dilation of the vessels so that blood can pass more freely, making it a great choice for diabetics with heart complications.

It is also worth mentioning, though totally unrelated, that cinnamon oil works as an aphrodisiac, too. How? In the same way that it helps the heart: by increasing blood flow to all organs and extremities in the body. Coincidentally, this includes the sexual organs.

So talk to your doctor about cinnamon and check your health food store to see what supplementation they may have available so that you can give it a try!
