Lean meat, grains like farrow and quinoa, lentils, chickpeas, skim milk, low-fat dairy products, and steel cut oatmeal will fill you up without causing dramatic spikes in your blood glucose level.

You can most definitely eat for your health, particularly if you have something that can be managed like T2D. Getting the bulk of your nutrition from foods that have a low GI is a smart way to maintain a stable glycemia level and avoid dangerous blood sugar rollercoaster.
